This was a personal project for Dan Summers.
The house was built on a slope resulting in there being a large void under the living areas which had been back filled by the original developers. So the first job was to make an opening into the void and remove all the back fill with wheel barrows (lots of hard weekends!!). From there we constructed a new dining room and kitchen leading on to the garden, utility space and a hallway linking to the existing living areas. These new areas had to have a waterproof tanking to ensure no damp to the walls/floors. Underfloor heating was installed linked to the existing heating system and kitchen installed with solid natural slate worktops.
